Baroness Hale talk
On Friday 8th November six Year 9 students attended a talk given by Baroness Hale. The event was organised by the Cheltenham Education Partnership, and was held in the Princess Hall at Cheltenham Ladies' College.
Baroness Hale spoke to the assembled students about her varied and interesting career in Law, in particular her experience as a woman in the legal profession and judiciary. Her appointment as President of the Supreme Court was ground-breaking, as she became the first woman to hold this office. She continues to campaign for greater diversification of the judiciary and better representation of women and minority groups.
The talk promoted some great conversations about the law, the legal system and women's roles in them as we walked back to the minibus.
More details of the visit will be included in November's newsletter.
