Updates from France - Year 9
Wednesday's review: We arrived in France safely, to gorgeous sunny weather in Calais. A visit to a bakery for a tour and then making some croissants!
Thursday's Update - we’ve had a festive day enjoying the Christmas markets in beautiful Arras. Lots of Christmas presents purchased (along with some excellent novelty hats!) After lunch we had a tour of Les Boves sous la place d’Arras, a network of tunnels that have been in almost constant use since the 9th century, having been used for everything from storing goods to avoid taxes to billeting Commonwealth soldiers during the 1916 Battle of Arras.
All in good spirits, we are having an earlier evening meal and the students will enjoy some downtime afterwards.
