Our First Ever GCSE Results – What an Achievement!
Today is a very special day for The High School Leckhampton. Our first ever Year 11 students have received their GCSE results – and we could not be prouder of them.
This is a group of students who have helped to shape our school from the very beginning. They have been the first students through so many doors, the first to take part in so many traditions and, today, they have become the first students in our history to receive their GCSE results.
And what a set of results they have achieved!
Our results at a glance:
Attainment 8 score: 59.68
Well above the 2025 national average of 46.10. This puts our pupils' results amongst the very top of all comprehensive schools in Gloucestershire.
39% of all grades were 7–9
Almost two-fifths of all grades were at the highest level!
There were fantastic achievements across every part of our curriculum. In English Language and English Literature, more than 94% of students achieved a grade 4 or above, with more than a third achieving grade 7 or above. In Mathematics, 87% achieved a grade 4 or above. In Science 69.5% of students achieved a grade 5 or above, with 38% of the cohort achieving a grade 7-9.
Our languages also produced excellent results, with 87% achieving grade 4+ in French and 91% in Spanish. Students studying History and Geography achieved strong outcomes, with 84% achieving grade 4+ in History and 86% in Geography. 48% of Geographers achieved a grade 7-9.
There were also particularly impressive results in the creative and practical subjects. In Art, 97% achieved grade 4+, while Music and Drama both achieved 100% grade 4+ outcomes. Textiles saw 83% achieve grade 4+, while Food achieved 79% and Product Design 84%.
In Religious Studies, every student achieved grade 4 or above, with almost 79% achieving grade 7 or above. Further Mathematics also produced exceptional results, with every student achieving grade 4+ and 60% achieving grade 7 or above.
Students studying Business achieved 82% grade 4+, while Computer Science achieved 75%. In PE, 83% achieved grade 4+, and students studying our individual language options also achieved excellent results, including Chinese, Latin, Polish and Russian.
Across the whole year group, our students achieved 824 GCSE grades, including 321 grades at 7 or above and 631 grades at 5 or above.
But the numbers don't tell the whole story
What makes us most proud is the progress each of our students has made.
Some students will be celebrating results beyond anything they imagined. Others will have achieved something that has taken enormous personal effort and determination.
A message to our Year 11 students -
We want to say a huge well done to every one of you.
You have made history today. You will always be able to say that you were the first Year 11 cohort at The High School Leckhampton and the first students to receive GCSE results from our school.
We are incredibly proud of your achievements, but even more proud of the young people you have become. You have shown ambition, resilience, kindness and determination, and you have helped establish the culture and spirit of our school for the students who come after you.
