Work Experience in Year 10
Following their week of exams, Year 10 are out on work experience this week. They have secured placements across Gloucestershire and beyond—some as far afield as Ireland, Germany and France—in a wide range of industries including hospitality, finance, healthcare and education. Members of the HSL staff will be visiting students over the coming days. Wherever possible, we aim to see placements in person (sadly, not overseas!) to find out how students are getting on and to speak with employers.
This valuable experience gives students the opportunity to develop transferable skills, gain insight into potential career pathways, build professional relationships and even gather references for future applications. It’s wonderful to see the confidence they gain from working in new environments and rising to different expectations. We’re really looking forward to hearing all about their experiences.
